Talk about an amazing game! Wow--one for the ages. It was the Dreaded 16th on that hot night in August in Honolulu. The Juneau Reindeer were leading 21 to 16 against the Honolulu Surfers. To sew up the game, the Reindeer played "say zero" to kneel for the first down box and the second down box. The Surfers tried to stop this, but they couldn't. But on the third down box--the last box of the set--the Surfers called "3" and rolled it! The Reindeer had to play. And play they did. They rolled a 5 - 6 for a 30-yard run. (In the excitement, our reporter at the game forgot to take note of the exact spot of the ball at the end of the run, but she thinks it was a run headed right into the end zone!) But the heat must have gotten to those boys from Alaska, because Honolulu stepped up in a big way. First they rolled a 6. Their bench got excited. "Could we do another 6?" "Can we do it?" The roll was delayed to let the suspense build. Then the second roll was flung high in their air. It hit the table and scooted toward the edge. It hung there, balanced--a six! The Surfers' safety Steve Muury (70 power) somehow managed to collide with the Reindeer's running back Brian Strafe O'Miguel (74 power) , strip the ball, and run it back for a game-winning score. Unbelievable, and unforgettable!
